This is a great travel rod for a variety of conditions and species. This taper with the light tip casts a 7 as a dryfly rod it reels like a 5 wt trout rod as it weighs only 3.55 oz. Not only is it light in the hand, it is light in the tip. This rod with a WF7F SA trout fishes small drys to large drys in windy conditions with accuracy and control. The heavy tip is designed to fish heavier or wind resistant flies. Trout, Grilse, river small mouth bass and light saltwater are the intended uses of this rod. I'm using an 8'3" version for saltwater beach-mangrove fishing. Since this rod is designed for larger fish, it comes with a detachable extension butt. Pictures available upon request.
